Mauricio Pochettino REPLACED as Manchester United’s first-choice manager

The Paris Saint-Germain boss was thought to be keen to return to the Premier League after his spells at Southampton and Tottenham.

But Pochettino has been replaced as Man United’s first-choice manager, with the Red Devils now lining up a managerial move for Erik ten Hag.

The 51-year-old has made a name for himself in the Netherlands with his style of play at Ajax.

He led Ajax to two league titles and produced some exploits in the 2018/19 Champions League season, guiding his side to a semi-final.

Speaking in December, the Dutchman hinted at his future – saying he would be ready for a new challenge.

He said by Volkskrant: “I think I’m ready for that. I would be happy to take on this challenge.​

“But I’m not pursuing it. If it turns out that this step will never come, I won’t say that my coaching career has failed.

“But I think I have enough skills to meet this challenge.”

Of course, Ralf Rangnick is currently at the helm following his appointment in November 2021.

But he is only in charge temporarily until the end of the season.
