Production on the film began last week after an official puja and the makers announced that Rashmika Mandanna would play the female lead in the film. “Thalapathy 66” is billed as a family-centric film.

In a recent interview, Dil Raju reportedly revealed that the first choice for the heroine role in ‘Thalapathy 66’ was Pooja Hegde, but later they finalized the role with national crush Rashmika Mandanna. Dil Raju added that since Pooja Hegde made back-to-back movies with superstars, they dropped the idea of ​​having Pooja Hegde for “Thalapathy 66”.

Actress Pooja Hegde was also present in the interview and she reportedly said that the whole process was discussed, but due to date issues, she did not sign ‘Thalapathy 66’. She added that “Beast” is a revival of her career in Tamil cinema and she is delighted to see the film on the first day and the first show with the audience in Chennai.

In other news, ‘Beast’ is set to hit theaters this week. With just two days to go, on April 13, the film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in theaters. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, ‘Beast’ is an action thriller. After “Master” in 2019, this is Vijay’s biggest theatrical release.
