Alia Bhatt was Chaalbaaz’s first choice in London


Just a few months ago, Sharddha Kapoor announced his next project. We will see the actress attempting for the first time a double role in Chaalbaaz in London. While the actress is busy preparing the film, rumors have circulated that Alia Bhatt was the first choice for the film.

According to several reports, producer Manmohan Shetty of Chaalbaaz in London was initially keen to involve Bhatt for the film. The Kalank actress, however, was unable to give the film a nod due to her previous engagements and the change in work schedule due to the pandemic. And since things didn’t fall into place with Bhatt, the team approached Kapoor for the role.

Chaalbaaz In London would also have been a remake of the blockbuster directed by Sridevi, Chaalbaaz (1989). Ever since director Pankaj Parashar, who directed the Sridevi film, was hired for the Shraddha Kapoor film, people thought the film was indeed a remake. Kapoor playing a dual role also said the same. The rumors were later avoided by Parashar, however.

“This will be my very first double role and it will certainly be a challenge for any actor,” said Shraddha when the film was announced. She added: “It is a great opportunity and a learning experience for me to work with Pankaj sir who has entertained us for so many years.”

Parashar said, “Shraddha is like magic on the screen. I think she will wow the audience with her dual role. For me there is no one better than her for a movie like ‘Chaalbaaz in London‘. “

As for Alia Bhatt, she has her kitty full of promising projects. The actress has Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and is directed by Ayan Mukerji of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. She also has Gangubai Kathiawadi, whose filming ended last month. It is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Now she is currently busy preparing for her first production. darling, which she co-produced with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The upcoming black comedy also stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew.
